Rohan offered a fair-price tuk tuk ride to Ian Atkinson, a visitor from Australia. One honest journey became a friendship.
Ian passed away on 26 November 2023. His generosity, friendship and belief in Rohan remain at the heart of this business.
The website launched on 26 November 2024, in tribute to Ian. Atkinson City Tours continues the same spirit of personal, fair and heartfelt service.

01 · WHERE IT BEGAN
In 2015, Rohan was driving a rented tuk tuk in Colombo and working to make ends meet. When Ian Atkinson, a visitor from Australia, asked him for a ride, Rohan offered a fair price. That first journey grew into a relationship built on trust.
02 · A KINDNESS THAT CHANGED A LIFE
Over time, Ian learned that Rohan did not own the tuk tuk he drove. In an extraordinary act of generosity, he bought Rohan a three-wheeler of his own. His support continued with a home in Colombo, and his friendship became a source of encouragement and possibility.
Rohan came to think of Ian as a father. At Ian’s encouragement, he began a tour business rooted in the same values that brought them together: kindness, fairness and heartfelt service.
03 · THE STORY CONTINUES
Ian passed away on 26 November 2023. The website launched on 26 November 2024, the first anniversary of his passing, as a tribute to the man whose kindness changed Rohan’s life.
Today, Atkinson City Tours carries that story into every journey — helping visitors meet Colombo through its streets, culture and people, with a guide who cares about the experience.
